LANDSCAPE AND ARCHITECTURAL PLANNING

Nature is an extraordinary gift. Architecture seeks to reconcile our need to create places to live with the natural environment around us.

This approach is particularly important to us. Gardens and other elements of landscape planning help us organise the space around us and create a meaningful relationship between architecture, landscape and everyday life.

ORIENTATION

Every design process is influenced by a combination of external conditions. The intended use of a room is, for example, closely connected to its orientation and access to natural light.

South-facing spaces are often particularly attractive for living rooms and other areas where we spend a significant part of the day. Less sunny orientations can be suitable for spaces such as kitchens or bathrooms, depending on the individual project and its surroundings.

DO NOT PRETEND

There is one important principle that guides our work:

DO NOT PRETEND.

It may sound slightly unusual, but many projects try to imitate something they are not. We believe in the authenticity of a place, its people and its culture.

In smaller towns, where fields and forests shape the landscape, it is worth asking what can connect architecture with its surroundings. How can the people who live there benefit from the character of the place? How can architecture make living there more enjoyable?

For us, this is one of the most important aspects of good architecture and thoughtful design.
